GUIDANCE
The Guidance Program at Clarendon hall is involved in the school's total curriculum. The program seeks to assist our students in all phases of self-understanding and in the development of individual potential. Each student's academic progress is closely monitored.
On this website, you will find important information concerning the SAT, ACT, FAFSA, and other scholarship information. There will be information about colleges and other various opportunitites available to your child.
GRADING SCALE
Grading Scale for all classes is as follows:
A+ 99-100 B+ 90 -92 C+ 82-84 D+ 74-76 F 0-69
A 96- 98 B 87-89 C 79-81 D 72-73
A- 93- 95 B- 85-86 C- 77-78 D- 70-71
The uniform grading scale and the system for calculating grade point averates (GPA's) and the class rank will be effective for all students. Recalculations will be limited to the use of the three-decimal-place conversion factors specified in the South Carolina uniform grading policy's grade point conversion chart. Increased quality points for dual credit courses and full credit for dual credit courses will not be figured into recalculations.
DROPPING A COURSE
After Friday, September 18th, failure is the penalty for students who drop a course. The administrator and guidance counselor must approve all schedule changes. Written parental permission is also required to change a student's schedule.
TRANSCRIPTS
Requests for school transcripts should be made to the Guidance Office. Effective March 1, 2010: There will be a $5 charge for copies of official CHS transcripts, excluding current seniors. Transcripts, grades, etc. will not be transferred until all financial obligations to the school are fulfilled. Senior transcripts have been updated to show first semester. If you would like the updated transcript sent to any college that your child has applied to, please send a note to the guidance office listing the colleges that you would like them sent to. (There is no charge to send transcripts to colleges for current seniors).
COLLEGE COUNSELOR
The goal of the college counseling process is to seek the best possible match between a student's abilities and needs and the college's of university's offerings and standards.
The College Counselor works very closely with students throughout the junior and senior year at Clarendon Hall. All seniors are required to apply to at least one college or university where they will be accepted.
The College Counselor is involved with the PSAT and SAT/ACT achievement tests. The school provides a review course for all sophomores, juniors, and seniors to aid them in preparing for the PSAT and SAT/ACT.
The College Counselor nominates and assists students with merit, leadership, and need-based scholarship programs. Information concerning scholarship opportunities and financial aid deadlines is posted and available to all students.
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY FOR ALL SCHOLORSHIPS
Must be a South Carolina resident;
Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident;
Must be enrolled as degree-seeking at an eligible South Carolina public or independent institution;
Must not owe refund or repayment on any State or Federal financial aid and not be in default on a Federal student loan;
Must have never been convicted of any felonies and have not been convicted of any second or subsequent alcohol/drug related misdemeanor offenses within the past academic year (excludig Lottery Tuition Assistance).

Clarendon Hall students should stay informed regarding the dates of national tests. Below is a recommended schedule for our students.
