Clarendon Hall serves families throughout Clarendon County and surrounding communities. Clarendon Hall focuses on spiritual growth, leadership, character, and academic success.
Founded on Christian Values
Summerton Baptist Church founded Clarendon Hall in 1965. The church created the school to provide students with a strong Christian education in a non-denominational environment. Originally, the school operated as Summerton Baptist Church School.
As enrollment increased, school leaders recognized the need for a larger campus. In 1968, Calvary Baptist Church near Pinewood, South Carolina assumed leadership of the school. The church continued the mission of providing Christ-centered education for elementary and secondary students.
Later that year, Clarendon Hall opened a modern educational facility in Summerton, SC. The new campus sat on eight acres and offered convenient access for local families.
Growth and Campus Expansion
Clarendon Hall continued to grow throughout the 1970s and beyond. During the 1975–76 school year, the school added a gymnasium, cafeteria, and multipurpose room. These additions supported athletics, student activities, and school events.
In 2004, Clarendon Hall launched a major capital campaign to improve school facilities. As a result, the school added a new administration wing and created a new campus entrance. Leaders also connected existing buildings with a new hallway. Additionally, the project included new student lockers and updated restrooms.
The school continued improving the campus in 2005. These improvements included landscaping, paving, fencing, and a redesigned driveway. In 2006, Clarendon Hall renovated the gymnasium and cafeteria. The school also installed air conditioning in the gym.
These projects reflected the continued support of parents, alumni, boosters, and community members.
Modern Facilities and Student Life
In December 2019, Clarendon Hall completed the Clarendon Hall Wellness Center. At the time, the facility featured one of the most advanced weight training centers in SCISA Single-A athletics. Alumni and school supporters helped fund the project.
Furthermore, in the summer of 2022, Clarendon Hall opened a new kindergarten and elementary building. The new facility replaced classrooms that had served students for more than 50 years. It also added modern classrooms, improved safety features, and updated learning spaces.
A Tradition of Christian Education
Today, Clarendon Hall Christian School continues to serve students and families from many denominations throughout South Carolina. The school remains committed to Christian education, academic excellence, athletics, leadership, and spiritual growth.
Clarendon Hall depends on tuition and generous support from families, alumni, and community members. Their continued support helps strengthen faith-based learning for future generations.
